I’ve seen lifters moving slow and controlled and others going heavy with speed Which approach actually builds better size and strength

I think it depends on your goal Slow and controlled gives you better mind muscle connection but faster reps help with power and strength I mix both in my workouts

For hypertrophy time under tension matters Slowing down the eccentric really makes the muscle work harder Burns like crazy but worth it

I’ve grown more doing controlled reps with good form When I used to lift too fast momentum did half the work and I barely felt the muscle

Fast reps are fine if your form’s tight Explosive training builds strength but if you’re chasing size focus on control and tension not speed

Both have their place I’ll do slower reps on isolation moves like curls or laterals and faster ones on compounds like squats or bench

I tried super slow training once didn’t love it Felt more like endurance work than hypertrophy Moderate pace seems to be the sweet spot for me

I use slow reps when I’m cutting to keep the muscle engaged and faster heavier reps when bulking Keeps training interesting too

Honestly consistency beats tempo As long as you’re adding weight or reps over time and keeping good form both styles can build muscle
