I’ve been pushing every set to failure but recovery’s starting to slip Do you guys go all-out each session or leave a few reps in the tank

Been there man Going to failure every set killed my recovery Now I stop 1–2 reps short most of the time and only go all-out on the last set Way better results

Failure training’s great in moderation If you’re doing it on every exercise especially compounds you’ll burn out fast Save it for isolation work

I used to think no pain no gain but backing off a bit actually helped me progress faster More strength less joint pain better sleep

Depends on how often you train If you’re hitting each muscle twice a week going to failure every time is too much Once a week You can probably handle it

I leave 1–2 reps in the tank most sets I’ll only push to failure on the last set of an exercise or when I’m feeling 100% Keeps recovery in check

There’s a difference between training hard and training smart Failure training taxes your CNS big time I use it sparingly mostly on machines

When I switched from every-set failure to RIR (reps in reserve) my lifts actually went up You don’t need to kill yourself to grow
