I see mixed opinions on this Some say every set should be close to failure others warn it kills recovery How are you guys approaching intensity these days

I only take my last set to failure If I do every set my strength tanks fast and the whole workout falls apart

Training to failure every set burned me out quick I make better progress staying 1–2 reps shy most of the time

I go to failure on isolation movements but never on big compounds Too much fatigue for not much extra gain

What helped me most was rotating intensity One week push harder next week leave some reps in the tank

I only hit failure when I feel really good that day Forcing it every session wrecked my recovery

I treat failure like a tool not a rule Use it on the last set when form is solid and joints feel good

Doing every set to failure made my workouts way longer and I was always sore Backing off helped me stay consistent

Science seems to lean toward close to failure not every set is death I’ve grown better keeping 1–2 reps in reserve on most sets me

I just take the last set to failure. Earlier sets stay 1–2 reps shy. Works best for recovery.
