A lot of coaches still push full-body workouts 3x a week but others say beginners should start with upper/lower or push/pull/legs With how gyms and recovery knowledge have evolved, what setup makes the most sense today

I still think full body 3x a week is great for beginners You practice lifts more often and recover fine since the weights aren’t heavy yet

Full body worked best for me early on Upper/lower felt like too much volume when I was just learning movements

I started with push/pull/legs and burned out fast Switched to full body and made better progress with less soreness

I think it depends on schedule If you can train only 3 days, full body makes the most sense More days, then upper/lower works

Beginners don’t need complicated splits Full body keeps things simple and helps build a base before moving on

Upper/lower can work too but only if volume is controlled Most beginners do way too much when they start

Full body helped me learn form faster since I practiced lifts multiple times a week instead of once

I don’t think full body is outdated at all It’s boring but effective Once strength goes up then switching splits makes sense
