Rest Days Do You Really Need Them When Starting Out?

When you’re new to lifting, it’s tempting to train every day. But is taking 1–2 rest days a week better for progress? What worked for you guys? 💪

Bro when you’re new, you think more gym = more gains. I learned quick that 2 rest days a week actually helped me grow faster.

If you’re sore all the time and dragging into workouts, that’s your body telling you to chill. Recovery is part of the grind.

I started with a 3-day full body split. Rest day between each session. Best move I made as a beginner.

Beginners grow from almost anything, but they also burn out fast. Rest keeps you consistent long term.

I tried 6 days right away and ended up with elbow pain and zero motivation. Switched to 4 days and progress actually improved.

Sleep + food + rest days = gains. People overcomplicate it but that’s really the formula.

Train hard, rest smart. You’re building a physique, not proving you can survive in the gym 7 days a week. Consistency wins every time. 💪
