Tracking Progress Do You Log Every Workout or Go by Feel

Post by Robert>^< »

I used to write down every lift and rep, now I just go by memory Wondering if tracking actually makes a big difference long term for strength and size

I’ve gone back to logging everything When I tried going by feel, I realised I was repeating the same weights for weeks without noticing

Honestly, logging helped me break plateaus Seeing the numbers makes it easier to push for that extra rep

I go by feel now After lifting for years I kinda know what weights to grab But beginners definitely benefit from tracking

I use a notes app and it takes like 20 seconds between sets Super easy and stops me from guessing what I lifted last week

I only track when I’m running a structured program If I’m in a casual phase I don’t bother and just train instinctively

For hypertrophy I find going by feel works fine But for strength blocks, logging reps and weights is basically a must
