Does Creatine Really Cause Water Retention or Just Online Myths?
Does Creatine Really Cause Water Retention or Just Online Myths?
I’m seeing mixed info some say it makes you look puffy, others say it’s just muscle fullness. What’s the real deal in 2026?
Re: Does Creatine Really Cause Water Retention or Just Online Myths?
Creatine never made me look bloated. If anything, muscles look fuller. The “puffy face” thing sounds like people confusing water weight with bad diet.

It pulls water into the muscle, not under the skin. Big difference. If you’re eating junk and tons of sodium, yeah you’ll look soft that’s not creatine’s fault.

Only time I looked watery was during loading phase years ago. Now I just run 5g daily and stay lean year-round.

That’s what confused me everyone online acts like it’s subcutaneous bloat. Good to hear it’s mostly intramuscular.

I prep shows and still run creatine deep into cuts. Never once blurred conditioning. If anything, muscles pop harder.

Makes sense. Sounds like hydration and diet matter more than the supplement itself.
Re: Does Creatine Really Cause Water Retention or Just Online Myths?
Some people just retain water easily in general. They blame creatine instead of carbs, stress, sleep or hormones.

Creatine in 2026 is still undefeated. Cheap, proven and effective. Internet myths just won’t die.
