I usually start by looking at the ingredients and checking whether the amounts are actually meaningful

I think the first thing to consider is whether there is good research supporting the main ingredient

Third party testing is something I look for because it gives me more confidence in the product

I would not judge a supplement by the packaging or marketing claims alone

I usually compare the ingredient list with a few other products before deciding

For me effectiveness comes down to whether there is evidence that the specific ingredient can actually provide the claimed benefit

I think the serving size is another thing worth checking, especially with products like pre-workout. Looking at the ingredient list alone doesn't tell you much if you don't know how much you're actually getting per serving.

I’d also check the caffeine amount, the main active ingredients and whether the product clearly explains what each serving contains. For something like pre-workout, your own caffeine tolerance and when you train also matter.

I think comparing the full label rather than choosing based on the front packaging makes it much easier to judge whether a supplement is actually worth considering.
