Re: Are Magnesium Supplements Worth Taking Every Day...?
I've been taking magnesium glycinate every evening for a few months. My sleep feels more consistent and I wake up less stiff, so for me it's been worth it.
Re: Are Magnesium Supplements Worth Taking Every Day...?
I only take it when my diet is lacking. If I'm eating plenty of nuts, seeds, beans, and leafy greens, I usually skip the supplement.
Re: Are Magnesium Supplements Worth Taking Every Day...?
It depends on the reason you're taking it. If you're deficient, it can make a noticeable difference. Otherwise, the benefits may be pretty subtle.
Re: Are Magnesium Supplements Worth Taking Every Day...?
I started using magnesium because of nighttime leg cramps. They became much less frequent after a couple of weeks.
Re: Are Magnesium Supplements Worth Taking Every Day...?
Magnesium is one of the few supplements I keep around year-round. I don't expect miracles, but I feel better taking it.

Worth taking if you have trouble sleeping or get frequent muscle twitches. Otherwise maybe not
Re: Are Magnesium Supplements Worth Taking Every Day...?
For me it wasn't a miracle supplement but it did improve my sleep quality a bit.

Magnesium is not automatically something everyone needs every day. It is worth looking at the basics first: nuts and seeds, beans, whole grains, and leafy greens can all contribute, and a varied diet may be enough for many people.
If you do use a supplement, the form and timing are personal choices. Some people prefer taking it with an evening meal, especially if they are trying it around a bedtime routine or occasional cramps, while others find a different time easier to remember. I would compare the actual elemental magnesium amount on the label rather than judging by the compound name alone, and follow the product directions.
